This Advent, The District Church is taking four weeks to reflect on the themes that shape the season: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Each week will reflect on these themes and how they ground us in the story of Jesus and orient our hearts toward His coming.
 
The series leads us toward our Christmas Eve Eve service, where we celebrate Jesus Christ as the Light of the World, the one who enters our darkness with truth, life and a way back to the Father.

In the shadow of the Fall, Genesis 3:15 offers our first glimpse of Jesus, the promised offspring destined to crush the serpent’s head. This hope serves as an internal compass, a "True North" pointing directly to Christ as the One who restores our broken connection with God. It lifts us above life’s harsh realities, turning our focus from the darkness around us to a posture of wonder and worship.

The book of Exodus is the greatest story of redemption in the entire Old Testament. It's the precursor to the cross of Christ Jesus, and a story that speaks to the condition we all find ourselves in today. The exodus is something that every single one of us, deep down inside, desires.
 
We want a road out. A road out of our sinful nature, our flaws, our failures, our inadequacies, addictions and anxiety. It's not just something that we want, but it's God's desire for us also .The book of Exodus shows us that.
