In our first week of spiritual disciplines, our focus is set upon Scripture. Throughout this sermon and teaching, we see how Jesus embodies the Scripture and how we are to treasure Him through the Word of God.

Become like Jesus

As we prepare to enter into 9 weeks of disciplines and practices, we are reminded that the result of our disciplines is to make us more like Jesus.

Walk with Jesus

"John shows us the importance of fellowship with Jesus and extends to us the ability to be in fellowship with Him also through walking with Him."

Practicing the Way - Be with Jesus

Spiritual Practices and Disciplines set our focus and dependency on God…It is through these practices that we are find a new way to be with Jesus.

Practicing the Way - Spiritual Formation

What is it that creates the cravings inside of you? Is it from God, and do we carry in us a deep craving for Christ? The point of our disciplines is to connect our craving with Christ so we begin our journey of spiritual formation by begging God for a great desire for Himself in us. We also must understand that it is God, by His Spirit, who gives us life and only the Spirit of God that can bring growth to our spirit.

Gods Design for Development - 11 years of The District Church

It is God's design for us to grow and mature in our faith. In looking at 1 Corinthians 2, Paul reveals to us the ways in which God leads us in growth.

The Way - Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus Christ can seem so foreign to us, but when we slow down and understand what it means, the resurrection becomes real, necessary, and urgent.

The Way - Burial

So much was accomplished at the cross of Jesus Christ. Through studying our 'union with Christ,' we gain a new perspective on 'The Way of Jesus' and on how we are included in His burial.

The Way - Death

So much was accomplished at the cross of Jesus Christ, as we look at "The Way of Jesus" on the cross we focus on "Jesus as King", "The Power of the Cross" and "Who we are, in Him".

The Way - Life

The life of Jesus has changed everything, not only paving a way for us to be restored to God but also indicating the way in which we are to live in the "here and now."
